Kia is recalling more than 1000 Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid models as they pose a fire risk.

"Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter into the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) in the Hydraulic Clutch Actuator (HCA)," the company says in its recall notice.
"This could cause an electrical short circuit and result in a vehicle fire.
"A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property."
Electric Niros aren't included in this recall.
- A total of 1366 first-generation (DE) Niro models are affected from 2020 to 2022

If you own an affected Niro, you'll need to immediately contact a Kia dealership to have the HCA inspected and, if necessary, replaced – all free of charge.
