Former political advisor Brittany Higgins and her husband David Sharaz have announced they are pregnant with their first child.

The couple was married on the Gold Coast in June 2024 after moving to France and buying a home in Bergerac at the end of 2023.
"Can't wait to meet you," the pair posted to social media on July 14 under a photo of newborn clothing drying on an outdoor line.
"Beyond excited to welcome a new member to our little family," their shared post read.
"Your parents are already obsessed with you and you aren't even here yet," they said.
The announcement was met with excitement from the couple's friends and supporters with messages of joy from hundreds of people including writer Clementine Ford, Olympian Libby Trickett and politician Georgie Purcell.
The announcement from Ms Higgins and Mr Sharaz comes just as the trial of Liberal Senator Linda Reynolds' high-profile defamation lawsuit against her former staffer is set to begin.
The trial, expected to run for four or five weeks, will start on August 2.
