Motocross legend Jayden Archer dies practising triple backflip

The 27-year-old X Games medalist tragically died just months before he was due to marry his fiancée Beth King.

Mr Archer was the first rider to land a triple backflip jump on a dirt bike during a competition and was one of only three in the world to have successfully performed the trick.

After the thrill of landing the jump, in November 2022, Mr Archer said it was "so much more than a trick to me. I've dedicated my entire life the last three years to this moment".

"There were a lot of obstacles and broken bones and knockouts, and I would do it 100 times over to relive that moment again," he said.

He proposed publicly to Ms King during joyous celebrations after landing the nearly impossible trick.

Mr Archer was a beloved performer in the Nitro Circus, a crew who travel the world performing death-defying stunts, and was remembered fondly by their star Travis Pastrana.

"He was a great human first, a hard worker second and a bad motherf--ker third," Mr Pastrana said after his death.
