Aussie actress Margot Robbie has missed out on an acting nod at the 2024 Oscars for her starring role in blockbuster film Barbie.

Robbie is not among the Oscars' best actress nominees, despite nominations at the recent Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, but was also a producer on Barbie which is up for best motion picture.
Barbie director Greta Gerwig was also overlooked in the best director category as the nominations were revealed.
Oppenheimer picked up a leading 13 nominations followed by Poor Things with 11, Killers of the Flower Moon with 10 and Barbie with eight nods.
The 96th Oscars will be held in Hollywood on March 11, Sydney time.
