AFL, NRL and soccer top the list of Australia's favourite hobbies

The nationwide analysis of search engine data and more than 16 million social media posts revealed a diverse range of passions "that give Aussies their mojo", eBay said.

The top 20 is wall-to-wall sports. AFL, NRL and soccer top the list and are followed by UFC, American football, cricket and tennis.

Niche sports that ranked in the top 100 list include Formula 1 at number 12, rock-climbing at number 27 and badminton which is ranked at number 32. Cheerleading, ice-skating and scuba-diving also made the top 100.

Fish and aquariums ranked as Australia's 47^th favourite interest with most enthusiasts aged between 18 and 24 years. More than 2,000 social media posts found Afro-beats music and tech-news were common sub-interests for fish fanatics.
