Aliens have landed in Mexico's congress as a controversial UFO researcher presented the bodies of alleged non-human beings to Mexico's first public congressional hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs).

Mexican journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan testified that two bodies discovered in Peru in 2017 were aliens and that researchers could prove that the DNA of the two mummies was not human.
"I think there is a clear demonstration that we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world and that any scientific institution can investigate it," he said.
Alien life? Previous findings debunked
The bodies were said to have been found deep underground in the Peruvian coastal desert of Nazca, an area known for the mysterious Nazca lines, which are giant figures resembling animals scraped into the earth and only visible from space.
Mr Maussan's research has previously been debunked. He reported on a supposed alien body found in Peru in 2015 that was later proved to be the mummified corpse of a human child.
The bodies resemble Hollywood depictions of aliens with elongated heads and three fingers on each hand.
Congressman Sergio Gutiérrez, who was in attendance, said the supposed discovery was food for thought.
"We are left with thoughts, with concerns and with the plan to continue talking about this," he said.
Hunt for extraterrestrial life
The issue of extraterrestrial life has been making headlines.
In May, US space agency NASA held its first public meeting on the issue of UAPs.
And in July a former US Navy pilot testified before Congress in Washington about his alleged encounters with a UFO.
Whistleblowers told US Congress hearings the government had possession of "intact and partially intact" alien vehicles and "non-human bodies", claims the Pentagon has denied.
Australian scientists said at the time that UFO sightings often had a simple explanation such as weather balloons, drones and satellites.
