Commonwealth Bank says its "services are recovering" after an outage spurred an "urgent investigation".

"Services are recovering following intermittent issues that some customers experienced across our banking services today," CommBank posted on Facebook at 4pm.
"We can confirm we have identified the cause of the issue and services are being restored.
"We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We know how much customers depend on us and sincerely apologise to those who have been impacted today.
"Please note there may be delays in some payments as we continue to bring services back online."
Earlier this morning the bank said in a Facebook post on June 26 that it was aware "some customers [were] experiencing difficulties accessing some of our services".
People flooded the post with comments slamming the bank for being unable to access their accounts.
"I'm sure my staff will understand that I can't pay them? This is nuts," one person said.
"We can't access our funds," another customer said. "How am I meant to [pay] the $150 for the fuel I just put in the car??"
A 12pm update said customers continued to experience "intermittent difficulties" and the bank was working urgently to resolve the issues.
The bank's call centres have been inundated and it is directing customers to visit the website for updates instead.
It also asked for people to be "mindful of the wellbeing" of staff at bank branches which may also be experiencing delays.
"We're aware some customers are experiencing difficulties accessing some our services and we are urgently investigating," a CBA spokesperson said.
