A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Melbourne's inner southeast.

Emergency services were called to Surrey Road in South Yarra just after 8pm on Saturday after the body of a 34-year-old Ripponlea man was discovered.
A 17-year-old boy from Frankston was later arrested and on Sunday night he was charged with one count of murder.
He will appear before a children's court, Victoria Police said.
