Police allege the man deliberately lit a fire in grassland near Kingstown Rd, Uralla, south of Armidale, on September 16, 2022.
The fire burnt through more than four hectares of grassland and a paddock before it was put out by NSW RFS firefighters, police say.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Detectives arrested a 47-year-old man in Uralla about 8am on May 3.
He was charged with intentionally causing fire and being reckless as to its spread, and holder of Category A or B licence not having approved storage.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Armidale Local Court in June.
It followed the establishment of Strike Force Nobility in 2021 to investigate suspicious fires across the Uralla Shire.
Arson Unit detectives with assistance from NSW Rural Fire Service investigators later took over the investigation.
