Iconic Australian entertainer Barry Humphries has been hospitalised after complications from a recent hip replacement surgery.

Mr Humphries was re-admitted to a Sydney hospital on April 19 just days after being discharged.
The 89-year-old had been in hospital for a broken a hip he suffered in a fall at home.
Sunrise entertainment editor Peter Ford told the show Mr Humphries health had worsened in the past week.
"These are complications from hip replacement surgery and has been going on for several months now," he said.
"Things are tough and all we can do it at this time is give a big shoutout to to Barry Humphries and say Australia loves you."

Mr Humphries was born in Melbourne, Victoria and is best known for his character Dame Edna Everage.
He is also an author and is critically acclaimed for his stage shows.
Mr Ford said Mr Humphries planned to get back on stage, with Australian shows booked for the end of 2023.
"Barry's a fighter," he said.
