The 50-metre outdoor pool at Sans Souci Leisure Pool is closed until further notice.
The pool at 521 Rocky Point Road was closed on November 7 due to an outage with the main pump.
Georges River Council has been advised that the problem with the pool pump is a failure of a part which will need to be replaced.
"The failure appears to be a manufacturing fault, and as such the pump will be repaired under warranty," a council spokesperson said.
"Unfortunately the manufacturer cannot provide a certain date for repair. While we have every intention of reopening the pool as soon as possible, in the interests of public health and safety we will not reopen the pool until we can ensure the health of the pool water.
"We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience to pool users and will continue to update the community on the repair process."
The indoor pool, the gym and the classes are all still running, Sans Souci Leisure Centre general manager Sheryl Fenn said.
