The Australian golf community asked golf clubs to dedicate a member's day to the memory of Jarrod Lyle to raise important funds for Challenge, a charity that supports kids living with cancer.
Australian golfer Lyle died of cancer in August last year. He was 36-years-old and left behind his wife Briony and daughters Lusi and Jemma.
Lyle, an ambassador for Challenge, had been undergoing his third stint of cancer treatment after a recurrence of acute myeloid leukaemia.
More than 100 golf clubs committed to 'do it for Jarrod' during August.
Beverley Park raised more than $2500 in gold coin donations on Saturday as players battled extremely difficult conditions, with strong winds buffeting the course.
Members were also encouraged to dress in yellow, Lyle's signature colour.
Challenge supports children living with cancer and their families and lightens the cancer journey for the whole family by providing practical support and fun experiences 365 days of the year.
"To be able to continue helping other children and families through a cancer diagnosis on behalf of Jarrod is something that's really important to me," Briony told the Golf Australia website.
"With the help of golf clubs around Australia, we'll hopefully be able to raise important funds in support of Jarrod's legacy."
