The choir has recently provided vocals for the ‘Tip top’ bread and ‘Elastoplast’ band aids advertisements.
Now Sutherland Shire Children’s Choir director Natalie Claire Woodcock has been asked to provide singers to record the latest ad for Big W.
“The jingle is the chorus from the Thin Lizzie song 'The Boys are Back in Town'. But instead singing 'The Toys are Back in Town’,” Natalie said.
Two recording sessions took place for Big W advertisement, a solo recording on Monday, June 5 and a group recording on Tuesday, June 6.
“Choir member Oliver de Silva recorded a solo vocal line at Rumble Studios, Chippendale on Monday afternoon which was a fantastic professional experience for him,” Natalie said.
Natalie was also asked to select six choristers to record group vocals for the Big W toy advertisement.
This session was held the next day at the state of art '301 Studios' in Alexandria.
“The recording was musically directed by the renowned conductor George Ellis. George made the students feel at ease and the children learnt so much from his expertise,” Natalie said.
“The sound engineers were very complimentary of the sounds being recorded.
“These opportunities are always fantastic experiences for our students
What an amazing opportunity. We can't wait until the ad is released.”
