The Greek Festival of Sydney which celebrates and showcases Greek culture through a series of events including theatre, film, literature, music and dance is coming to St George.

The festival had its official launch at Darling Harbour on February 16 and will run until June 17.
This year, the festival organisers have decided to extend its program into the St George area, home to one of Sydney’s biggest Greek communities.
The festival’s local program has already kicked off with a recent special screening at the Beverly Hills cinema of the drama-documentary, Our Maria Callas.

To Dentro, a modern take on modern life. Critically-acclaimed theatrical and prose writer Giorgos Maniotis introduces us to Christoforos, played by Nikos Magdalinos.
While decorating his Christmas tree, Christoforos begins to reflect on his life, slowly sifting through memories and his favourite ornaments. The script illuminates the human soul and reveals much about the current condition.
To Dentro will show at the St George Bank Auditorium, 4 Montgomery Street, Kogarah on Saturday, March 17 at 7pm.

Chrysoula K is performing with Purpura in their show Amalgam, showcasing Greek music travelling around the world.
Púrpura is a Greek folk group that experiments with songs and tunes of different cultures including Argentina, Portugal, Armenia, Italy, combining them with the rich Greek tradition and classical western forms to create a fresh sound, nostalgic, vivid, playful and airy.
The performers are Chrysoula Kechagioglou, Maria Ploumi, Sofia Serefoglou and Elsa Papeli.
Chrysoula K. and Púrpura: Amalgam will be at the St George Auditorium, on Friday, March 23 at 7pm.

Malakas with Attitude, stars comedian George Kapiniaris of Wogs out of Work and Acropolis Now will be at Rockdale Town Hall on Wednesday, April 18 at 7pm.
