After weeks of revelations over the expenses saga, ABC editor Huw Parkinson has wittily sent up the former speaker by inserting her into the comedy series about a particularly dysfunctional family as matriarch Lucille Bluth, who's signature catch cry is "I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it."
As he searches for missing flight records, sceptical son Michael is put in his place with a Bronnyesque blast.
"The bookings were simply made in the ordinary course of events by my office," she says.
And later ...
"One doesn't resign for an error of judgement when it's within the guidelines."
Parkinson has previously inserted Barnaby Joyce into Pirates of the Caribbean during the saga over Johnny Depp's dogs, Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd into The Breakfast Club and Christopher Pyne into Star Wars.
He also gave the House of Representatives the Seinfeld treatment last year and recut Ghostbusters with a cameo by Jacqui "Sharia Law obviously involves terrorism" Lambie.
Parkinson's take on Arrested Development includes comedic cameos for Tony Abbott and Clive Palmer.
As a contribution to the biggest story in Canberra politics in recent weeks, it debuted - quite brilliantly - on the ABC's Insiders.
