The choir was asked to provide singers to record the jingle for the new ‘Tip Top’ bread ad.
Three boys and three girls, all aged eight-years, recorded the jingle at Rumble Studios, Chippendale earlier this week.
The recording was conducted by the renowned musical director George Ellis.
Sutherland Shire Children’s Choir director Natalie Woodcock said it was a fantastic professional experience for the children.
“George Ellis from Rumble Studios knew that all the children had to audition for the choir and so they would be getting wonderful voices.
“The choir records a CD every year but this was the first time their voices have been used in an advertisement that appears on television.
“The marketing team from 'Tip Top' visited our recording session and were very pleased with what they heard,” she said.
“The 'Tip Top' ad will start being aired on television in about two weeks so look out for it.”
There are currently 75 children aged six to 17-years in four separate auditioned choirs rehearsing weekly at the Sutherland Pensioners’ Centre.
Auditions and a trial rehearsals prospective members are held every Wednesday during term four.
“Choristers experience significant growth in confidence due to the thrill of performing,” Mrs Woodcock said.
