In her Winter Olympics debut in Sochi, the Sydney girl of Greek and Australian heritage — a former national artistic gymnastics gold medallist with the Miranda-based NSW Academy of Gymnastics — was the only Australian snowboarder (apart from Bright) to make it past the heats.
And even though she crashed out with two falls in the semi-finals, the bubbly Magiros with the gold eye make-up and green and gold hair additions still managed plenty of smiles.
Magiros finished 18th overall and fellow Australian Holly Crawford finished 26th after competing with a broken wrist.
