One of my promises, the Arncliffe pedestrian tunnel, has been given the go-ahead, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The government has also proved its commitment to education spending, with more than $14 million allocated for capital works and infrastructure in schools and St George TAFE in 2012-13.
Health has also been a top priority.
■$39 million will be spent on the St George Hospital emergency department and specialist mental health unit.
■184 new graduate nurses
■36 subsidised nursing scholarship positions at St George TAFE.
■$560,000 for Calvary Hospital.
The government has provided vision with the WestConnex motorway and I am still committed to fighting for the F6.
One important goal is the construction of the car park at Rockdale station.
A disappointment involves the closure of Rockdale police station and its sale as a potential development site by the previous government.
Unscrambling this is difficult, as amalgamation of the St George and Hurstville local area commands has overtaken the issue.
